Rice terraces, monkey forest & waterfall
This tour covers the mid-north part of Lombok and offers you a taste of the magnificent local nature traveling along breathtaking rice fields and typical rainforest. We visit the spectacular nature of Tetebatu, at the foot of Mount Rinjani, where cool tropical forest invites you to enjoy Lombok's pristine nature at its best. Our first stop is the monkey forest home to the jet-black lutung (leaf monkey), a real treat for the eyes. Next, we walk through Tetebatu's terraced rice fields, which follow the contours of the hills with Mount Rinjani as a direct backdrop, right next to tropical forest and spice plantations. We finish at a waterfall fed directly from the foothills of Rinjani cold, clear, and refreshing to swim in.
Highlights
Monkey Forest
The natural habitat of a herd of endemic black monkeys (lutung), which tend to be shy and differ from ordinary monkeys.
Waterfall
In addition to the Ulem Ulem Waterfall, there is a hidden waterfall that flows through a structure resembling natural caves.
Rice Field
Hike or bike through expansive rice paddies, or walk through local crop gardens such as cocoa, cloves, and vanilla right in the residents' backyards.
